Among the dark green vegetables, broccoli is my favourite—a cruciferous vegetable and regarded as an anti-cancer master. It’s so delicious when you simply stir-fry with garlic. I especially like to add cumin seeds as well.
You never try? Cumin is not only suitable for marinate meat and curry, but also delicious for stir-frying. But be sure to sauté the cumin in hot oil to release their aroma before adding the broccoli.

- ½ (250 g) broccoli
- 1 tsp cumin seeds
- 1 clove garlic, minced
- ½ tbsp Shaoxing wine
- salt
- oil
How to Make Stir-fried Broccoli with Garlic and Cumin
- Cut the broccoli into florets.
- Warm 2 tsp of oil in a pan, fry the cumin seeds until fragrant. Then add in garlic and fry until lightly golden.
- Stir in broccoli and give them a quick stir-fry.
- Season with salt and splash in the Shaoxing wine. Again stir-fry, and cover with a lid for 1 minute until cook through. Serve hot with steamed Jasmine rice.
