If you want to have a casual lunch in Clifton, after that you can roam around to see ‘something’, or anything in a good weather, I recommend you to got to Clifton Village.
We popped into this cafe, called Saffron, because of the good vibe on a final-summer-is-here Saturday. (It’s a shame that I forgot to take one photo!)
All-Day-Breakfast and Lunch Till 4PM
They have all-day-breakfast served ’till 4 o’clock, and after 11am there are BIG sandwiches, salads, grills, and mezze for lunch.
The menu is more complete than the one shown on the website.
Curry Boy had a mezze (any 3 for £11.95, served with flatbread) – chicken wings, lamb kofte and zaalouk (aubergine and tomato dipping sauce).
And I ordered a grilled chicken for £12.95.
From what I’ve seen, if you order a sandwich or grill, you’ll enjoy a very generous portion and lovely colour from the salad, burglar and dipping sauce, which I love.
The minus point is that the meat was a bit dried and needed to be marinated longer.
Overall, the grill has greater value than the mezze from my point of view. But it was really nice to sit outside(but in the shade), it allowed us to enjoy the breeze blowing in the blue sky and people-watching.
What a nice afternoon!
