THAT piece of fried cod fish fillet, lying on a bed of fluffy fries, and the just right tartare sauce, PLUS a cup of tea – £12.95! How could I find a better deal like Noah’s in Bristol?

A Seafood Lover’s Must-Visit

My bestie paid her first-time visit to Bristol to celebrate her birthday. She and her husband are seafood lovers, so I chose Noah’s to fulfil their seafood cravings, which turned out our visit was GREAT!

Noah’s, quietly tucked in at the end of the harbour walk’s path, overlooking the beautiful Cumberland Basin with a relaxing ambiance. You can even see the iconic Clifton Bridge!

Awarded with a 4.8 High-Ratings

Noah’s caught my attention since it was recently awarded as the 3rd Best Fish & Chips restaurant of the year. Although deep inside, this kind of award didn’t appeal much value to me, I still wanted to try it once simply because of its high 4.8 Google-ratings.

Not Only Fish & Chips at Noah’s Lunch

The day we visited, there were 3 choices for the lunch deal – cod fish fillet, fish cake, or mussels. All served with chips and a cup of Yorkshire tea, at a really reasonable price of £12.95.

You can also choose from the main menu, but I found the lunch deal irresistible.

We started our Saturday’s lunch with diver-caught scallops from Orkney Islands, and salt cod croquettes to share.

Loved the scallops were nicely cooked with a simple herby butter sauce. The croquettes were also tasty, but its cooking method and food ingredients were maybe too similar to the main course – fish cake – which I later noticed I was too full of fried food and potatoes.

I’ve tried all of them and, by far, their signature cod fish fillet was my favourite. The moist, tender and meaty flesh wrapped in a light and crispy batter, really showcased the chef’s skill at cooking fish & chips.

And I did love their silky aioli (with mussels) and tartare sauce as well. They were both light and well-seasoned and kept you busy dipping with fries.

For those who want less fried food, the classic mussels cooked in shallots and white wine is a safe choice.

And the fish cake, compared to the above cod and mussels, was less appealing to my point of view in terms of presentation and flavour.

Noah’s location may not be the best in terms of accessibility; there is enough parking space outside though. On a sunny day, take a leisurely harbour walk after Noah’s, have a nice weekend!
