Among the dark green vegetables, broccoli is my favourite—a cruciferous vegetable and regarded as an anti-cancer master. It’s so delicious when you simply stir-fry with garlic. I especially like to add cumin seeds as well.

You never try? Cumin is not only suitable for marinate meat and curry, but also delicious for stir-frying. But be sure to sauté the cumin in hot oil to release their aroma before adding the broccoli.

Stir-fry broccoli with garlic and cumin.

Ingredients

Serves 2

  • ½ (250 g) broccoli
  • 1 tsp cumin seeds
  • 1 clove garlic, minced
  • ½ tbsp Shaoxing wine
  • salt
  • oil

How to Make Stir-fried Broccoli with Garlic and Cumin

  1. Cut the broccoli into florets.
  2. Warm 2 tsp of oil in a pan, fry the cumin seeds until fragrant. Then add in garlic and fry until lightly golden.
  3. Stir in broccoli and give them a quick stir-fry.
  4. Season with salt and splash in the Shaoxing wine. Again stir-fry, and cover with a lid for 1 minute until cook through. Serve hot with steamed Jasmine rice.
