Curry Boy and I love FALAFEL! We even made it from scratch!

When eating falafel, you need something to dip. The typical sauce with falafel is tahini, but we don’t have it. So, we come to this yogurt and mint sauce.

The ingredients are very simple.

You only need mint leaves, plain yogurt, onions, lemon/lime juice, salt and pepper. Use a blender to help you and the sauce is done!

I found this sauce all-purpose, not only steak and meat, but also matches well with grilled vegetables and couscous.

So often I would make falafel using ready-mixed powder, then grill some veggies and prepare a bowl of couscous just by soaking. Then a light but nutritious lunch is ready!

Ingredients

Enough for 2 as a dipping sauce

  • 4 tbsp plain yogurt
  • a handful of mint leaves (around 25 g)
  • ½ small onion
  • 3 tbsp olive oil
  • 3 tsp lemon/lime juice
  • salt & black pepper
  • a pinch of sugar

How to Make All-Purpose Yogurt Mint Sauce

  1. First, blitz the mint leaves with onions, 2 tbsp of olive oil and 2 tbsp of yogurt. Add half of the lemon/lime juice (maybe you want to add more after tasting). Season with a little of salt and black pepper as well.
  2. Have a taste and look at the consistency. is it what you like? If it’s too thick, then add more yogurt. If it’s too runny, try to add more olive oil.
  3. I’ve used all the ingredients above. I also added a pinch of sugar to balance the flavour. But it’s all up to your taste.
