To sum up the 3-day trip to Copenhagen, Curry Boy and I both like this city very much.

The roads are wide and easy to walk, the environment is clean, the buildings are avant-garde and modern, the Danes are fluent in English, the hospitality service is good, the stores’ presentation and food are attractive. It is no wonder that Copenhagen is one of the popular cities to travel in.

The area of Copenhagen is only 88.25 km², but there are many art galleries and museums throughout the city. If you like to take your time and visit slowly, it’ll easily require four days.

But we only stayed for 3 days. And we’ve shortlisted sightseeing spots below and want to share them with you.

Copenhagen Canal Tour

The canal tour – a typical way to go sightseeing. We hesitated but turned out it was worth a try. There are guides explaining them in Danish and English. It lasts for an hour. I think it is great that you can take a rest when you are tired from walking, and you can have a general understanding of the various buildings in Copenhagen.

Museums in Copenhagen

DAC : Danish Architecture Center

Personally, I like this museum about architectural design very much. You will see the ideas behind urban planning, the designs of famous Danish architects and so on. There are 4-story high slides inside that adults can play in, and the speed of sliding down was very fast! I have screamed haha!

Louisiana Museum

An art gallery with a beautiful architectural design, located between Kronborg castle and the city centre. When we took the return train back to the city center after visiting Kronborg castle, we visited the Louisiana Museum. Outside the art museum is the sculpture park and cafe, all facing the sea, which is very comfortable when the weather is good.

Maritime Museum

Another full-of-surprises museum. It is located next to Kronborg Castle but there is a high chance that you’ll miss it, because it was built underground! The display method of the exhibition is unique and well considered. We like it.

SMK: Statens Museum for Kunst (National Gallery of Denmark)

A very, very large national-level art museum. I guess it will take more than 3 hours to finish it. We couldn’t finish all the exhibitions, and we were already in a state of aesthetic fatigue…

Copenhagen Castle/Palace

Christiansborg Palace

That day we visited, it was only 1 hour before closing and there were very few tourists. The palace is really beautiful, and you have to wear shoe covers when you enter the venue to avoid dirtying the floor.

Kronborg Castle

It takes about an hour to get there by train from the city center. It is a beautiful area, very quiet and comfortable. We were both impressed by the basement of the castle, because it was almost pitch black!

Copenhagen City View

Copenhagen city view.

Although the Copenhagen Card is convenient and a money saver, I always wanted to visit more attractions in a given time frame if possible. But it turned out we felt a little rushed in 3 days. I hope we will take a closer look at the next trip, even if we don’t go to any art museum, castle or palace, just enjoying the beautiful scenery of Copenhagen is enough.
