A crowd pleaser. Looks like a lot of steps, but it’s easy and your effort will be paid off!

Scallion Sauce Mussels

Once thaw the mussels, sauté some chilli, ginger and shallots, pour over the sauce, done!

Make a simple Chinese sauce and get it done under 10 mins. It’s good with rice!

Tofu with lemongrass sauce.

Lemongrass Tofu

This is the most fragrant lemongrass sauce I’ve ever eaten with tofu. Simply marinate for 30 mins, then fry until coloured, done!


Useful Seasonings & Sauce

I’ve always been enjoying these in a quick and easy dinner.

Tofu in tomato sauce.

Tomato Tofu

  • ¼ chopped tomato tin
  • ½ tbsp tomato puree
  • ½ tbsp soy sauce
  • ½ tsp sugar
  • ¼ tsp salt

Sesame Crispy Tofu

  • 1 tsp soy sauce
  • ½ tsp oyster sauce
  • ½ tsp sugar
  • 2 tbsp water

Steamed Fish Sauce

  • 1 ½ tsp black bean garlic sauce
  • 1 tsp sugar
  • ⅛ tsp white pepper
  • ½ tsp soy sauce
  • 1 tsp sesame oil
  • ½ tsp tapioca/corn starch
  • 1 tbsp water

Viet Aubergine

  • 1 tbsp black bean garlic sauce
  • ½ tbsp soy sauce
  • 1 tbsp water
  • 1 tsp honey
  • ½ tbsp lemon juice

Sweet and Sour

  • 1 tbsp ketchup
  • 2 tsp wine vinegar
  • 1 tsp soy sauce
  • 2 tsp sugar
  • 2 tbsp water
  • black pepper

Asian Noodle Soup

  • 5 cm cinnamon stick
  • 1 star anise
  • 1 onion
  • 1 garlic clove
  • 800 ml chicken stock
  • ½ tbsp soy sauce
  • 1 tbsp fish sauce
  • 1 tsp sugar
  • ½ tsp white pepper
